Let’s do the maths..
Let’s assume (for this example) that people fill their cars once per week mostly (70%) for work. With an average 45L tank, this would work out to around R3000 per month at 180 litres in total @R17/ litre.
For the 7 million passenger vehicles that’s R21 Billion per month in fuel revenue and 1,26 billion litres of fuel.
Now, if those 7 million people worked from home for 30 days, this would be reduced by around 70%.
They would fill their cars once a month, instead of every week.
The volume of fuel sold would drop to just 378 million litres and create a fuel surplus of 882 million litres!
The revenue would decrease from R21 Billion to R6,3 Billion or a trading loss of R 14, 7 Billion.
I think THAT would definitely be noticed!
So,what the F*#K do you do with 800 million litres of fuel that no one wants?
YOU HAVE TO DROP THE PRICE!
How much money would you save by working from home for 30 days?
For the motorist, they would save around R2100 in that month plus no Etolls either!
What could you do with R2100? Especially as we approach the Festive Season.
